Prev Thread Next Thread. Hello, I am searching for any family members of several hundred German immigrants from these towns along the North Sea coast, and other places in Hannover who came into Charleston and Walhalla, South Carolina, USA, between and I would like any information relating to why they came to the antebellum south so far it looks like family migration chains , if any letters exist I can read fraktur from them to relatives in Hannover, or specifically what caused them to emigrate from their ancestral homes.
In return, I can provide some basic information generally other household and family members, address, occupation, other census, city directory, military records, slave ownership [yes, German immigrants bought slaves in the antebellum south], and tax information for those in this list.
